The service. Sapling provides family-history research based on publicly available records, delivered as an interactive report that also prints to PDF. Package depths and typical turnarounds are described on the Packages page.

What research can and cannot promise. We verify every fact we report against source records and are honest about what the record shows. Because surviving records vary by family, time, and place, how far back a line can be traced differs from project to project — we tell you what is realistic before you purchase, during the free assessment. Genealogical research also involves judgment calls — connecting records across changed spellings, gaps, and eras. We make those calls with expert judgment, informed by the historical context of the time and place, but like all historical judgment they are not always perfect.

Payment. Packages are paid for at the time of purchase through our secure checkout. Hourly and custom work is quoted and agreed before it begins.

Your report. The finished report is yours to keep, print, and share with your family. The Sapling name, logo, and website content remain ours.
